Ever wondered what happens to those courageous few who decide to take a stand and speak up about a company’s bad practice? The title “whistle blower” usually comes with a flurry of media attention and public speculation,  and more often than not ends in the person in question being pushed firmly out of the company and even the industry they have ‘blown the whistle’ on, after which we don’t really hear much about them again… This is not the case for the HBOS whistle blower Paul Moore who has taken his experiences with the Bank and put them to good use in an exciting new venture. Paul Moore is currently Chairman of Assetz Capital Group and we caught up with him  whilst filming three programmes for Assetz in December to discuss his thoughts and advice for British Businesses in 2013. Paul told us; “I’ve been involved in Financial Services and Banking since 1984, but most people know me best for being the HBOS whistle blower…  I stand for integrity, competence and doing the right thing… but believe it or not banks want nothing to do with me because I was a whistle blower. After Lloyds and OEE confirmed their new video for their HR department we wanted to ensure we could give the client the best footage possible within the budget allowed. Our challenge was to make a bank of grey desks and computers look as beautiful as possible, without detracting from the serious message behind the video, and within an incredibly tight schedule. All without having any effect on the budget. This is where the Glidetrack comes in. Glidetrack is one of the many distributors of a handy piece of equipment called a slider, which usually comes in lengths of between 0.5 and 2m long. The slider can replicate some of the shots a Track and Dolly would produce, but with much less set up time and without the need for additional crew members. It’s also ideal when you are limited by space or health and safety issues. Our crew have used many sliders for the past few years, but Glidetrack have really come into their own with the release of the new Glidetrack Hybrid Slider System. The new carriage on the hybrid holds the weight of the camera on a set of bearings that work in conjunction with a new plastic […]

We have just recovered from filming THE food event of the year in the home counties, and thought it was really an event worth shouting about. It was our third year supporting the fantastic Thame Food Festival based in the beautiful town of Thame in Oxfordshire, and the atmosphere was electric. The SPS team were on site with the stall holders from 7am helping local volunteers distribute stands, tables and chairs and setting up our wares, namely free sweets, DVD’s, and a tempramental HD Screen. Our talented crew of 12 was headed up by MD Emma Lowndes and her AD Nikki Flint, directing three camera crews and the photographer. Each crew covered key areas of the event-The cookery demo theatre in the centre of town, Interviews with Celebrity Chefs and Sponsors, and Stall holder wares and events across the festival.   Shooting began with six delightful Celebrity Chefs. Lotte Duncan begun proceedings, a local celebrity chef with regular appearances on the Food Network and a beautiful shop “Lotte’s Kitchen” based in Chinnor. (Try the lemon cup cakes, they are to die for) Beverly Glock, Adam Simmonds, Laurie Gear and the Caldesi’s were so enthusiastic and on -message, and a joy to […]
